Do Fat Free Foods Help You Lose Weight

Question: I am currently watching what I eat and trying to count my fat grams and calories, and I am doing Tae-Bo every other night. I'm really not overweight, I'd like to lose about a 1/2 inch from my thighs and hips. My question for you is, some foods say "Fat Free" on the package (for instance pretzels). Does that mean I can eat a ton of those pretzels as a snack and not feel guilty or worry about gaining weight? Is that a healthy snack alternative when I feel hungry? EM

Answer: EM, No. An excess of carbohydrate (or protein) calories go to the same place as an excess of fat calories go to -- fat storage. Overeating any food, fat free or not, will result in an excess of calories.
