Does StairMaster Bulk Thighs and Hips

Question: I use the stairmaster for 40 minutes 4 times a week. I have been told recently that the stairmaster give bulky thighs and big hips. Is this true? Nicole

Answer: Dear Nicole, Stair climbers may cause this result for some body types. It really depends on genetics. This is most likely to happen in shorter, more muscular people (endomorphs). If you're noticing this happening to you, switch to a treadmill. Even if you're not, substitute a couple of your stairmaster workouts with biking, walking or running to avoid overuse injuries. This will keep your routine interesting.
