Extremely Overweight Where to Start

Question: I am extremely overweight. I weigh 250 and am only 4'11". I want to start losing weight, but I don't even know where to begin anymore. I bought myself a treadmill, but I can only do about 5 minutes at a time. Where do I start? tired of being overweight

Answer: Dear tired, You have already started. You bought a treadmill and you have gotten on it for 5 minutes. That's more than a lot of people ever do. Instead of focusing on how long it's going to take, or how helpless you feel, take it one day at a time and focus on the positive steps you're taking for yourself. Since 5 minutes is your current limit, do 5 minutes in the morning and 5 in the evening every day. After a couple of weeks, this will seem easy and you will be able to increase your time to 7-10 minutes. You can increase your time every week until you're up to the recommended 35-60 minute workout. This may seem a long way off, but with consistency and gradual progression, it will be no problem. 80 percent of it is what goes in your mouth. Learn to listen to your hunger signals and only eat when you're hungry and stop eating when your hunger signals disappear. More small meals are preferable to a few big meals per day. Balancing your nutrition and drinking plenty of water will help you keep from getting tired. Read more about healthy eating in the Articles section.
