Answer: Ashley, The maximum amount of fat you can lose per week is two pounds. Eating only 1,000 calories per day is too little. You're teaching your body how to survive on less calories, instead of maximizing your body's ability to burn fat for fuel. Your body will be too busy tring to hang on to its fat because you're putting it into a starvation state. I would never recommend eating fewer than 1,200 calories - and even that is not enough for most people. Instead of looking at a weekly goal, change your eating and exercising habits permanently.
