How to Break a Fitness Plateau

Question: I'm a very active 25 year old women and I feel like I've be on the 'plateau' for too long now. I know that trainers always tell you to vary your workout routine to achieve the most results and I belive that I do so. In the last year, year and a half I've toned my body significantly, but I still am not 100% satisfied and want to achieve more in the way of inches lost. My weekly routine consists of: Kickboxing 2 days, Step aerobics, 2-3 days, swimming 3 days, dancing (latin dance) 5-6 days, weight training 2 days, misc cardio 1-2 days. I want to have a very lean, toned, fit body, but I feel like I could bulk up easily even though I'm not yet. I need some advice on what things to incorporate to reach my goal of slimming down more primarily in the glutts and abdominal region. My ab's are very strong and tight, but have very little definition. My glutts are fine, except for the saddle bags. Help!!!

Answer: I recommend replacing the 2 - 3 days of step aerobics with 2 - 3 days of yoga. I know you probably will resist it at first, based on your workout personality, but I'm sure you will feel benefits mentally as well as physically. You will feel more satisfied with your efforts instead of feeling like you're never quite there.
