How to Increase Metabolism Rate

Question: You have a great website!! I am 26 years old, 5'2" and I weigh 120 pounds. Last year, I had pnuemonia and my metabolism just stopped. I have gained about 10 pounds in less than a year. I need to get my metabolism going again. What are some exercises and foods that would help me do so? DB

Answer: DB, You can increase your metabolic rate by getting in at least 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise daily (with one rest day per week), eat breakfast lunch a small snack and dinner (keeping your meals healthy), and strength training 2 to 3 times per week.
