Losing Inches But Not Weight Why

Question: I have been working out consistently for about 6 weeks. I do cardio for 1/2 hour 5 days a week (one of those days I do interval training), and weight train & tone on 4 of those 5 days. I eat properly--low fat, low calorie--but I do not count calories. I have noticed that my body seems sleeker and tighter and I see muscle definition. The only problem is that while I have apparently lost inches and toned up, I have not lost any weight at all. I am 33, 5ft 4inches and weigh 120lbs. This is the heaviest I have ever been. I am small framed and my weight is usally between 105lbs. What I am doing wrong? Do I need to start counting calories to see weight loss? Thanks Mariko

Answer: If your body seems "sleeker and tighter" then you're doing the right thing. It's never a good idea to base your judgments on the scale. Go by how you feel, and if the changes you are seeing and feeling are to your liking, then keep doing what you're doing.
