Should You Exercise on an Empty Stomach

Question: I would like to know if you should exercise on an empty stomach or if you should eat a little something. I have heard that if your stomach is empty your system gets confused. -Merce

Answer: Before weight-training, eat a light meal 30 minutes or so before the workout. But when doing cardiovascular exercise (walking, running, biking...), some people find that an empty stomach works fine. However, I recommend eating a very light snack prior to the workout.
