Step Class and Weight Training Workouts
Question: I currently use Cybex weight machines three days a week. I also do step aerobics three days a week, on days that I don't strength train. Since muscles need a day to recuperate after strength training, is it okay to do the stepping on my off days? Is it enough rest for my legs? Is it okay to do the toning exercises on aerobic tapes on my off days? Thanks a lot for your help. AAM
Answer: Dear AAM, It's OK to do the step classes on your off days, but skip the toning exercises on those days because that's not really giving your body time to recuperate. Stretching after your cardio sessions will give you the most benefit.
