Women's Fitness Contests and Competitions

The Women's Fitness contest contestants display athletic talent and skill with beauty, style, personality and poise in three unique rounds which will be scored at pre-judging, and repeated in the evening for the spectators.

Round One:
(Fitness Routine) Ladies will be introduced then each contestant will perform a 90 - 120 second fitness routine to music. All routines must be timed to end within this time limit, with a 10 second leeway.  As of the 2000 Contest Season, routines will be timed and music will be cut off at 130 seconds. Routines may consist of dance, aerobics, gymnastics, Martial arts etc. Props may be used. Judges are scoring on strength, flexibility, stage presence & endurance/energy level.

During the Fitness Routine, the Judges are scoring...

  1. Strength
    All moves that are lifted by the arms and/or upper body, such as straddle holds, push-ups & variations, hand stands & bridges. Basically...any position that elevates body from floor.
  2. Flexibility
    Leg Raises, Splits, Bridges, Walk-Overs (front & back), handsprings, back bends - any move where the lower body meets the upper body.
  3. Stage Presence
    Smile, Confidence, Interaction w/crowd, costume (is it eye-catching? is there a theme? Overall...was it nice?)
  4. Endurance/Energy Level
    Is the routine "High Energy"? The routine that is the most "High Energy " get the best score. 

Round Two:
(Swimsuit Round) No Thongs allowed. Wearing swimsuits, competitors are brought out in a line, one by one, each contestant will walk forward to the right side of the stage and do modeling quarter turns; then to center stage and do quarter turns; then to left side of stage and do quarter turns. Head judge will direct line-up forward to do a group quarter turn, move contestants around to compare, then ask the line-up to leave the stage. Judges are scoring on best symmetry, conditioning, attire, poise and confidence.

During the Swimsuit Round, the Judges are scoring...

  1. Symmetry 
    Beauty of form arising from balanced proportions.
  2. Conditioning 
    Physique should be hard and separated, full yet still feminine.
  3. Poise & Stage Presence
    Confidence (is she smiling?), eye contact, quarter turns, hair, make up.
  4. Attire
    Swinsuit - color, does the suit compliment her? Shoes, jewelry, etc... 

Round Three:
(Evening Wear Modeling Round)
Brought out in a line, one by one, each contestant will walk forward to the right side of the stage and do modeling quarter turns; then to center stage and do quarter turns; then to left side of stage and do quarter turns. Contestant will then return to the line-up. One by one, each contestant will walk up to the microphone, introduce herself, step back and do four quarter turns, and then return to the line up.. Judges are scoring first impression, gown/attire, speech, poise/stage presence...the total athletic woman.

During the Evening Gown Round, the Judges are scoring...

  1. Gown & Attire
    Gown should be fitted to allow the judges to see the physique yet still be elegant & flattering to the contestant. Jewelry, Shoes & Hair are all factors as well. 
  2. Conditioning 
    Physique should be hard and separated, full yet still feminine.
  3. Speech
    Voice, Command of Language, Ability to hold attention. Pace is important...not too fast & not too slow. 
  4. Poise/Stage Presence
    Confidence, Smile, Eye Contact, Turns, Walk (put together well). 

Scoring 

  • Each of the three rounds will equal 1/3 total score. 
  • There are seven judges -  high and low scores will be thrown out.
  • 1 thru 5 points is awarded for each section - 1 is best score, 5 is worst. 
  • In the event of a tie, the tie breaker will take place during the evening show. 
  • All contestants will be notified that there is a tie, but not told who is involved in the tie. The two tied contestants will be judged during the Evening Show.
