Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is among the most popular martial arts that are practiced around the world.

BJJ is an important and effective MMA combat style. Most of the powerful BJJ moves allow you to wipe off the opponent in the ground with a minimal application of force. However, Ju-Jitsu techniques can be extremely trickling and require a lot of care whilst practicing. Here is the list of 11 most powerful BJJ moves

Rear Naked Choke:

Rear Naked Choke is without any doubt the most devastating and powerful submission in BJJ. This move makes the opponent tap on the ground when applied correctly. Its technique is very easy to learn. Rear Naked Choke is typically applied from the back mount position. It's the definitive way of ending a fight & a primary threat.

Kimura Armlock:

Kimura is one of the powerful bent arm locks which forces the opponent's arm under the back while stressing his shoulder & elbow joint. It's relatively easy to learn & can be very effective in competitions. Because of the popularity of kimura, your opponent will easily recognize it & tend to defend himself but once it is locked in, chances of escaping are rare.

Straight Armbar:

It's among the most versatile & powerful techniques in BJJ. After putting on your BJJ Gi straight armbar can be applied to multiple positions, which includes mount, rear mount, side mount, knee mount, opposite from the turtle, or by the guard.

Triangle Choke:

Usually, a triangle choke is applied from the guard, but it has multiple variations such as execution from the back, side, or other angles. It is the signature move of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It takes time to master all the fine details of this move which makes it so powerful.

Bow & Arrow Choke:

Bow & arrow is the only single powerful Gi choke of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It makes you grip the lapel of your opponent, & requires another arm for rotating your body which tightens the choke. Typically, this move is applied from the rear mount, but there is some variation too.

Omoplata:

Omoplata is an attacking technique with a million setups, finishes & variations. Usually, this Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is executed from guard by forcing your opponent's arm to turn into a Kimura-like posture. Omoplata move is capable of tapping out your opponent easily. Omoplata can be tackled by sweeping your opponent.

Gogoplata:

Gogoplata is among the hardest submission's setup of BJJ, once locked incorrectly makes it almost impossible for your opponent to wiggle out. Gogoplata is usually applied from the bottom guard. This effective position gives advantages to people having flexible legs. It makes you capable of controlling your opponent while providing opportunities for cool submissions. The set up for Gogoplata and loco Plata is pretty much the same.

Sleeve Choke:

Sleeve Choke is one of the versatile and powerful attacking moves that can be applied from almost any angle, even from those positions where you usually would not have so many submission attacks. Once you are done wrapping your arm around the head of your opponent's then all you are required to do is join both of your arms by clutching in your sleeve.

Kneebar:

This move is among those submissions of BJJ that uses the power of your entire body against your opponent's single joint. Once you clamp down tight around his leg, you are in charge of his body's ability to rotate, then you get to extend your hips for submission. One can apply this kneebar to move from the top, bottom, or even in a standing position.

Bicep Slicer:

Bicep Slicer is one of the tricky & unexpected BJJ moves it is also illegal to use in many tournaments till the level of black belt. When this technique is applied with full force it has the potential of breaking the radius bone in the arm of your opponent. One should use this attack carefully.

The figure for Toehold:

The Figure for Toehold is a versatile and powerful leg lock that can be applied easily when you get near that foot of your opponent. It can be applied as a primary attack, or a follow up to other types of leg locks. Most of the action of this lock is somewhat similar to a heel hook.
